BushBox NYC is a boutique boxing and fitness studio based in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Founded by local champion Roderick Soto, the studio blends expert-level training with an inclusive community vibe. BushBox serves clients of all levels, from first-timers to lifelong athletes, and invests in long-term community impact through programming like its new After-School initiative.
Founder Bio
Roderick Soto founded BushBox NYC in 2020 with a vision to bring authentic, high-level training to his neighborhood in a supportive, judgment-free environment. A Bushwick local, Soto claimed the 1998 New York Golden Gloves championship at 165 pounds. His journey from local athlete to community leader has shaped the gym’s dual identity: gritty, serious training for those who want it, and a radically welcoming space for those who have felt intimidated by traditional gyms.
